Labangon is one of the biggest barangays in Cebu City with an area of 1,095 sq. km. At present, the population is estimated at 48, 107 with number of households at (approx.) 10, 433.

There are (approximately) forty eight (48) sitios. The timezone in Labangon is Asia/Manila, and it is situated at latitude 10.3044444 degrees and longitude 123.87 degrees.​​ â€‹
 
The weather is warm and tropical with a temperature at around 30 Degrees Celsius or 86 Degrees Fahrenheit.
​
The word Labangon comes from the root word "Labangonon", which means "to cross". Early settlers found the place difficult to cross because of the river that separates Labangon from other areas, such as San Nicolas. The only way to reach Labangon was to cross the river with a bamboo raft.

Katipunan Street was named in honor of the Katipuneros, whose headquarters were in Katipunan Street, while Tres de Abril Street was named to commemorate the Battle of Tres de Abril on April 3, 1898.

Our vision is to govern Barangay Labangon with transparency, dedication, and love for the people and its territorial jurisdiction, and lead Barangay Labangon to progress and development.

To establish organized and systematic offices with people who are approachable, conscientious, reliable, firm, pro-active, and dedicated to public service.

To functionalize the different barangay committees that look after the welfare of the people.

​

To exercise transparency in every barangay transaction, especially in the financial aspects, through public consultations, meetings, assemblies, and regular posting of administrative and financial reports.

​

To create ties with non government organizations, people's organizations, private groups, and government agencies, and gain the confidence and trust of these groups.

​

To enjoin the people in the planning and implementation of barangay programs and projects.

​

To implement programs and projects that support and promote economy and enterprise, education, environmental sanitation, general services, health, infrastructure, peace and order, social services and housing, sports and recreation.

​

To maintain order, peace, and cleanliness.

​

To protect boundaries and territories from annexation and land-grabbing. 

To decrease rate of malnutrition, sickness, illiteracy, juvenile delinquency, abuse of women and their children, conflicts, crimes, and various social concerns that (adversely) affect the way of living of the people.

To improve sewerage and drainage systems, garbage collection, and infrastructure.

​

To improve economic activity, increase investments from private sectors, and obtain financial funding and support from both

government and non-government organizations.

​

To gain full trust and confidence of the people.

​

To be a model LGU.
